Night sky turtle pendant

Navajo handcrafted turtle pendant by artist Marty Yazzie. Set in solid sterling silver with genuine Acoma jet and cultured opal inlayed pieces. The uniquely design pendant features a round center night sky pattern surrounded by a cut out relief. The turtle measures approximately 2" in length and is 1" wide. The bail is large enough to accommodate up to a 6mm necklace or chain.

NIGHT SKY JEWELRY COLLECTION: Inspired by the clear dark night skies of the Navajo Nation. The Navajo believe that Father Sky contains everything unknown and therefor look to the sky for many of their answers. Due to the isolation of the Navajo nation the night skies are very dark and show many of the constellations that cannot been seen in other parts of the United States. The Navajo look to these stars for meanings and answers to their culture.
