These details are reversed stamped into the mounting that follow the design with scalloped edges. The setting measures 1"3/8 x 1"1/2, with the turquoise heart shaped stone measuring 3/4" x 3/4". Stone: Kingman Turquoise originates in the Mineral Park Mining District near Kingman, Arizona. One of the largest domestic turquoise mines, it is found in a large open pit copper mine in the high desert country. The Kingman Mine district was first mined by Native Americans; it was part of the most extensive prehistoric workings in Arizona.
Artist: Tsosie Orville White (TO White) Orville White, known for his precise stamp work, is from Arizona. He began making jewelry in the late 1980's after being inspired by his wife's family. Before becoming a renowned silversmith, Orville was a carpenter and an auto mechanic. He is known to sign his work as both with and without the use of his first name.
