Thin Navajo bracelet w/ #8 turquoise
Product Details

Handcrafted By Navajo artist Happy Piaso. The bracelet features a single oval #8 turquoise stone. Another unique feature that really sets this bracelet apart from the rest is the detailed stamping and repousse´work around the stone. The thin width allows it to lay comfortably on the wrist. This is a wonderful example of a Navajo bracelet with a rare turquoise stone.

Materials: Sterling silver & #8 Turquoise

Measurements: Width 1/2", inside 5-1/8" with a opening of 1" (all measurements are approximate)

*this bracelet will fit wrist sizes of 6-1/8" to 6-3/4"

Stone: Of the ten claims in this 20-acre area, the Number 8, first claimed by the Blue Star Company in Lander County, is considered the finest example of the gold-webbed turquoise.  Number 8 turquoise is famous for its black, golden-red and brown spider web matrix background, which is set off by the soft blue to blue green turquoise. The mine is now depleted, and Number 8 turquoise is extremely rare and valuable.

Artist: Happy Piaso, Navajo, is 51 years old  and is married to Rudie Willie. She was born and raised in Alamo, New Mexico and has 2 children, one of which is in the military. Happy was taught the craft of silversmithing by her husband, Rudie.
