Sugilite ring in silver & gold-Vintage 147

This uniquely styled ring is from the 1990's. Part of a private collection. It is set in solid sterling silver with 14kt gold accents. The contemporary design has flat sides and bottom with a round hole for the finger. The single sugilite stone is wrapped in 14kt gold. Unfortunately this type of ring is not able to be sized, so if you wear a size 7 then your in luck! Sugilite (purple) is a rare mineral named after Ken-ichi Sugi, a Japanese geologist who first discovered the material in 1944 on the Japanese island Shikoku.... Sugilite has a vivid purple color and is usually opaque to translucent.
