Navajo handcrafted cuff bracelet. Made of solid sterling silver and featuring 19 oval red coral stones. Corals are a protected sea life and are rare to see in Native American jewelry today. This particular one has detailed edges with stamping that flows outward with round balls seperating each piece of coral. The bracelet has a light weight to it and is easy to wear. A great example of a Navajo crafted bracelet.
It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket. The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
