Navajo turquoise and silver bolo tie-Pawn Jewelry

The traditional design is typical of the style seen in Navajo bolo ties. The large concho shape has detailed stamping with a single turquoise stone. Nicely weighted and easy to wear. Black leather cord and silver tips finish off this bolo tie. A wonderful example of a Navajo bolo tie. 

It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the native culture.
