Lariat Style Kingman turquoise Necklace set

LARIAT NECKLACE SET WITH KINGMAN "WATER-WEB" TURQUOISE

Beautiful Lariat styled necklace set. Navajo handcrafted and set in solid sterling silver. 16 genuine Kingman " Water-Web" turquoise stones are used in the Lariat necklace. It measures 24" fully extended with the chain. There is 4" of chain and the Lariat can be adjusted shorter if needed. The additional drop of 2 stones at the end of the Lariat give the necklace 2 1/2" more in length. Each of the stones measure approximately 3/4" x 1/2" and are wrapped in silver with a twist wire. The earrings are 2 1/2" in total length when worn and have 2 stones measuring 1/2" x 3/8" and 3/4" x 1/2" respectively. The artist is from the Navajo Nation named Raymond Boyd. 

 Kingman Turquoise:  The Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona was one of the largest turquoise mines in North America. The terms "Kingman" or "high blue" refer to the blue color usually displayed in this stone. It has become a color standard in the industry. The mine became famous for its rounded, bright blue nuggets with black matrix. Few turquoise mines produced nuggets, especially of this quality. Old natural Kingman Turquoise is rare. The Colbaugh's own this mine and the Turquoise Mountain mine, their company name is Colbough Processing. They have recently gone back into the section of the Kingman mine and are digging and bringing some new Natural Kingman Turquoise.
