Navajo handcrafted pendant and necklace set. Made of solid sterling silver and genuine turquosie. The set comes complete with its orignal red pawn ticket from Gallup, New Mexico.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embeded in the Navajo culture.
Necklace: The length of the necklace is 20" and features fluted beads that measure approximately 7mm in size. Sterling silver hook and eye clasp. Light weight and easy to wear.
Pendant: The pendant is long and measures 3" in length and features a double dangle design with a large turquoise stone with a smaller turquoise stone dangling below.
