Navajo handcrafted bracelet by a unknown artist. The tradional design of the bracelet features a oval cluster of 9 turquoise nuggets.The sides of the bracelet show a design of turquoise nuggets and small round coral stones. Mounted on two pieces of 1/2 round silver wire, it has a comfortable feel that easily fits most wrists. A wonderful example of a traditional Navajo bracelet.
It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
