Long thin Navajo handcrafted inlay earrings by artist James Lee . Set in solid sterling silver, these earrings features genuine hand cut stones such as blue denium lapis, jasper, turquoise and jet that dangle on a small oval post. The inlay area has a slight curve to it that flows across the wrist perfectly when worn. The raised mounting gives dimension and style to the bracelet. A wonderful example of Navajo inlay craftsmanship.
measurements: 2-3/4" in length, 1/8" taper to 1/4"
Story: The Design in both rings is directly reflective of a Navajo Rug pattern called a "Storm Pattern". The middle apposing triangles are the "eye" of the storm, and the black steps represent storm clouds. Designs and or patterns showing storm clouds, whirl winds and or rain are common with the Navajo People as water is such a vital part of their life
Stones: The Black you see in the design is called "JET "and is actually a fossilized wood, which has been compressed over millions of years. Multiple pieces of stone make up the mosaic image. The Brown is made up of Picture Jasper, blue is turquoise, the blue coloring is denium lapis and the blue iridescent rectangular shapes are made from cultured opal.
