Navajo handcrafted bracelet by artist Daniel Martinez. The tradional design of the bracelet features a cluster of 15 turquoise stones mounted in sterling silver. The large setting for the stones has a scalloped edge with silver bead elements. Heavy 1/2 round wire are used for the cuff to create a sturdy feel and is very comfortable.This is a unique Navajo bracelet that really makes a statement.
It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
