Large Double Dangle Sunface Earrings

These Zuni handcrafted earrings are a double dangle inlay Sunface design. The post features an all Jet surrounding where the dangle brings in the Mother of Pearl making these earrings sparkle. The piece comes attached to its original pawn ticket. The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900's when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities. It is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
