Striking sterling silver ring by Navajo artist Albert Jake features a vibrant rectangular Kingman turquoise cabochon set within a classic twisted wire bezel. The piece is finished with traditional heavy stampwork, silver droplets, and fluted buttons on a wide, tapered band for a bold, Southwestern look.
Measures: Mounting measures 1 1/4" x 3/4" with a 1/2" x 3/8" stone. Band tapers from 1/2" to 1/4".
Stone: Kingman Turquoise originates in the Mineral Park Mining District near Kingman, Arizona. One of the largest domestic turquoise mines, it is found in a large open pit copper mine in the high desert country. The Kingman Mine district was first mined by Native Americans; it was part of the most extensive prehistoric workings in Arizona.
