NAVAJO HANDCRAFTED SET BY ARTIST ALBERT JAKE
Navajo handcrafted pendant, necklace and earring set by renown artist Albert Jake. The large pendant has outstanding silver stamping and repousse´work. The pendant measures 3"1/2 total by 1"1/2 at its widest point. The beautiful stone measures 1"1/2 x 5/8". The necklace has graduated beads from 7mm to 20mm and is 16" long. The earrings hang on a silver french wire and are 1"1/2 when worn.
Stone: Sonoran Gold Canyon Turquoise is an interesting turquoise from Senora, Mexico, near Nogales, Arizona, and its neighbor: Nogales, Mexico, which is the northernmost point in all of Mexico. Albert Jake: was born in 1959 in the Zuni Pueblo south of Gallup, New Mexico. He learned silversmithing from his parents. He specializes in traditional set stones and cluster jewelry with intricate stamp work. He has been smithing since 1987. He also creates sand-paintings and makes pottery. During the summers he works as a forest fire fighter. He lives with his wife and two daughters today in Rahmah, New Mexico, near the Zuni Pueblo.
