Black onyx & sterling silver necklace set. The 3-strand necklace is hand strung and measures 16" in length with a 4 " extension. The silver and onyx beads range in size from 5mm to 8mm. The large pendant measures almost 4" in total length and has a maximum width of 1" 1/2. The Navajo artist is Albert Jake. He is known for his outstanding silver work and large stone settings. This set is a great example of his work. The pendant is removable allowing you to wear the necklace and matching earrings separately. This a beautiful set. NAVAJO HANDCRAFTED NECKLACE SET IN ONYX AND STERLING SILVER Albert Jake: was born in 1959 in the Zuni Pueblo south of Gallup, New Mexico. He learned silversmithing from his parents. He specializes in traditional set stones and cluster jewelry with intricate stamp work. He has been smithing since 1987. He also creates sand-paintings and makes pottery. During the summers he works as a forest fire fighter. He lives with his wife and two daughters today in Rahmah, New Mexico, near the Zuni Pueblo.
