8-stone traditonal Navajo bracelet

Traditional Navajo cuff bracelet. The design features 8 irregular shaped nugget style turquoise stones. The simple pattern of stones is accented by silver beads and twist wire. The outside edge of the cuff has a pattern that frames the stones perfectly. It has a light weight and is easy to wear. Stamped by the artist ES ( Elaine Sam) It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket. The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Native American culture.
