5-stone Navajo bracelet-Pawn Jewelry

Navajo handcrafted cuff bracelet made of solid sterling and features 5 turquoise stones.The unique design has irregular shaped stones mounted on medium gauge sterling silver with wire accents.Black oxidation background really make the stones stand out. This is a great example of a traditional Navajo bracelet. 

  It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the their culture.
