Zuni handcrafted bracelet and ring set. The unique designs feature irregular shaped stones mounted in a "sandcast" method of sterling silver. The artist (Juan Candelaria ) is from a fourth generation family of amazing silversmith artists. Candelaria grew up watching the silversmiths in his family create and perfect family designs. At age 11, he started helping his family by polishing the beautiful crafts his great-grandfather Juan Calabaza made. This set is a great example of his talents.
It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the their culture.
