Pawn Jewelry-1980's Navajo rectangular stone bracelet
Product Details

Navajo handcrafted cuff bracelet is all about the rectangular  turquoise ! Featuring detailed silver work stamping and overlay elements along with a medium sized turquoise stone. The cuff part of the bracelet is made with sheet silver. The design of the bracelet is not typical of Navajo bracelets of this period. It has a nice weight to it when worn with the rectangle turquoise stone making quite a presence. If your looking for a unique bracelet then this may be the one. It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket. The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
