Handcrafted by Navajo artist Derrick Gordon. He was born in Gallup, New Mexico in 1971. His mentor was his uncle Delbert Gordon. Derrick utilizes fine natural turquoise to create old style traditional jewelry with heavy stamp work.
Measurements: 1" at its widest point along the sides and tapers down to a 1/8". The oval stone 3/4" x 1/2".
Stone: The Dry Creek Turquoise Mine is located on the Shoshone Indian Reservation near Battle Mountain, Nevada. The mine was first discovered in 1993.The turquoise from the Dry Creek mine, which has also been known as the Godber as well as the Burnham mine, is a creamy pastel-blue and blue-white, turquoise.
