Large Single Stone Pin and Pendant

This traditional pin/pendant combo is so versatile. Can be worn by a male or female the large sterling silver oval is hand stamped with gorgeous detail and features a single piece of turquoise in the center. The piece comes attached to its original pawn ticket. The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900's when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities. It is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
