Sterling silver cuff bracelet crafted by Navajo artisan Rosco Scott. Piece features a vibrant, domed Kingman turquoise stone secured by sawtooth (serrated) bezel framed by a geometric, maze-like mounting that's created using the overlay method where a cut out design in shiny, sterling silver sheet that's been oxidized. The split shank band was shaped in smooth, "half round" wire providing a comfortable, flat fit on the wrist.
Measures: Mounting measures 1 1/2" in diameter. Stone itself measures 1/2" in diameter.
Stone: Kingman Turquoise originates in the Mineral Park Mining District near Kingman, Arizona. One of the largest domestic turquoise mines, it is found in a large open pit copper mine in the high desert country. The Kingman Mine district was first mined by Native Americans; it was part of the most extensive prehistoric workings in Arizona.
