Highly oxidized sterling silver ring stamped "SH" by the artist features a raised setting of 8 Kingman turquoise stones arranged in a cluster design around a large center stone. The vivid blue color of the turquoise and its natural dark webbing/ matrix pairs beautifully with recessed twisted rope wire and a four-way split shank band. Kingman Turquoise originates in the Mineral Park Mining District near Kingman, Arizona. One of the largest domestic turquoise mines, it is found in a large open pit copper mine in the high desert country. The Kingman Mine district was first mined by Native Americans; it was part of the most extensive prehistoric workings in Arizona.
