Bear Fetish Overlay Ring

Hopi-made bear fetish ring in sterling silver features a classic, signet-style oval shape with bear and radiating waterway motif in traditional Hopi overlay design. A strong and stylish piece! The bear and waterway design in the recessed area was created using the Hopi Overlay technique, where a top layer with a cut-out design is soldered to a solid base plate. Before the bottom silver plate is joined, a meticulous technique called "matting" is used to create tiny, intentional indentations (seen as tiny etches), catching light from within the oxidized recess to add depth to the design.

Measures 7/8" x 5/8" at the top setting with a band tapering from 3/4" to 1/4".
