NAVAJO HANDCRAFTED MULTI-COLOR HEART PENDANT BY SHIRLEY HENRY
Medium size multi-color cluster heart pendant. Crafted by Navajo artist Shirley Henry. Set in solid sterling silver. Measuring 2-1/4" x 1-1/2", it has a bail opening large enough to accommodate a 8mm necklace. The artist has used 17 individual shells and stones in the design of the pendant. Very colorful.
Spiny Oyster Shell (orange, purple colors) Living Spondylus shells are, indeed, very spiny, but the polished product looks very smooth the most used Spondylid Bivalve shell colors include orange, reds, and purples and may include distinct striations and color variations. One also finds pink, red, brown, yellow, orange, and white on the market. Red coral comes from certain areas, such as the Mediterranean, where the specific water temperature and conditions allow coral to thrive.
Coral is a hardened tube or branch. Only about 10% of coral is considered jewelry quality.
Kingman Turquoise originates in the Mineral Park Mining District near Kingman, Arizona. One of the largest domestic turquoise mines, it is found in a large open pit copper mine in the high desert country. The Kingman Mine district was first mined by Native Americans; it was part of the most extensive prehistoric workings in Arizona.
