26" Silver bead necklace-Pawn Jewelry

Navajo handcrafted beads.Featuring a combination of mini and small sized round & saucer style silver beads.They offer a unique pattern and have a slight grey patina. This type of silver bead is rare. They have a medium weight and are strung on a chain. A silver hook & eye clasp holds them securely.Perfectly sized to wear either by itself or put your favorite pendant on them. 

It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
