Pawn Jewelry-Large Navajo ring w/ adjustable shank

Navajo  handcrafted ring by artist Kevin Billah. Featuring a large oval turquoise stone surrounded by detailed silver work and a scalloped edge. This unique design of the mounting makes quite a statement. A adjustable shank also has a unique flair with a flower pattern stamped into it ! Heavy silver makes the ring very sturdy and has a nice feel. A true one of a kind. 

It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
