Navajo-made sterling silver ring handcrafted by Delbert Gordon. Striking piece features a large, light blue Kingman turquoise stone with significant dark chocolate matrix/ webbing. Hand-sawed sawtooth bezel wire wrapped in twisted rope frame the stone while raised sterling design details radiate from its bright stone center. Like many of Delbert Gordon's pieces, heavy silver stampwork and deep contrast provide a bold, Southwestern appearance.
Measurements: Stone measures approximately 7/8" x 5/8". Band tapers from 1" to 3/8".
Kingman Turquoise originates in the Mineral Park Mining District near Kingman, Arizona. One of the largest domestic turquoise mines, it is found in a large open pit copper mine in the high desert country. The Kingman Mine district was first mined by Native Americans; it was part of the most extensive prehistoric workings in Arizona.
