Large turquoise Navajo ring-Pawn Jewelry

Navajo handcrafted ring. The ring features a large blue oval turquoise stone. The mounting of the ring is very heavy guage sterling silver with deep stamping. he unique scalloped edges of the ring shank creates a striking look and a comfortable feel when worn. The artist has even stamped the inside of ring shank with a detailed pattern along with his hallmark.This is an outstanding ring.  

It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
