The sisters' initial foray into doll-making was driven by preserving family customs and the necessity of earning a living.
They learned sewing from their mother and became skilled at it. Evangeline and Helen have spent years perfecting their craft, making detailed cloth dolls and figurines that depict different aspects of Navajo life.
