Gold night sky inlay ring

Beautifully crafted inlay ring. Set in solid 14kt yellow gold. Designed by renown Navajo artist Calvin Begay (signed by the artist). The ring features individually hand cut pieces of black Acoma jet and cultured opals. The inlay area measures approximately 3/16" in width by 1" in length. The ring it self has a width of 3/8" and tapers at the ends for a comfortable fit. This along with the concave underneath shank allow this ring to fit perfectly. This is a stunning ring.

The Navajo believe that Father Sky contains everything unknown and therefor look to the sky for many of their answers. Due to the isolation of the Navajo nation the night skies are very dark and show many of the constellations that cannot been seen in other parts of the United States. The Navajo look to these stars for meanings and answers to their culture.
