This small vintage ring from our PAWN collection features three bezel-set turquoise stones flanked by a trail of beaded sterling wire on either side. The band is split into three where it meets the setting for a comfortable fit. Measures 1 1/2" x 1/2" at the mounting. Stones measure roughly 3/8" x1/4" each. The piece comes attached to its original pawn ticket. The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900's when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities. It is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
