Turquoise heart pendant w/ bead surround

The medium- large heart pendant measures 2" x 1-1/2". Handcrafted by Navajo artist Bernyse Chavez. Known for her stamping patterns and her attention to detail. Genuine Nevada #8 turquoise is used for the heart. The bail is large to accommodate up to a 7mm necklace. Signed by the artist. Nicely detailed and perfectly sized, this is a beautiful heart pendant.

Number 8 turquoise is famous for its black, golden-red and brown spider web matrix background, which is set off by the soft blue to blue green turquoise.Located in the Lynn mining district in northern Eureka County, north of Carlin, Nevada, the Number 8 mine is on the west side of the Tuscarora Range, and was at one time a gold and copper mining operation The mine is now depleted.
