Handcrafted by a Navajo artist in Gallup, New Mexico. These light weight earrings have a total length of 1"1/4 when worn.Every stone is hand cut and carefully placed in the silver setting. The "rug pattern" inlay design measures 1/2" x 3/8". NAVAJO HANDCRAFTED DANGLE EARRINGS STONES: Multiple pieces of stone make up the mosaic image.The black you see in the design is called "JET "and is a fossilized wood, which has been compressed over millions of years.The brown is made up of tiger eye & picture jasper. The blue stones in the corners is lapis, the blue iridescent rectangular shapes are made from Cultured Opal. STORY: The Design in both rings is directly reflective of a Navajo Rug pattern called a "Storm Pattern". The middle apposing triangles are the "eye" of the storm, and the black steps represent storm clouds. Designs and or patterns showing storm clouds, whirl winds and or rain are common with the Navajo People as water is such a vital part of thier life.
