Traditional cuff bracelet by renown Navajo artist Albert Jake. Set in solid sterling silver with genuine Golden Hills turquoise. Measuring 1/2" in width and a center stone measuring 3/4" x 1/2". Amazing hand details like arrow and cut bezels really make this bracelet stand out from the rest. NAVAJO BRACELET W/ GOLDEN HILLS TURQUOISE- ARTIST : ALBERT JAKE GOLDEN HILLS TURQUOISE: In the Russian hills of Kazakhstan sits the GOLDEN HILLS mine. The Turquoise is only mined in the winter months during the freezing cold and snow as rains flood the mine during the summer. The location of the mine is remote and difficult to bring equipment in and out of. It is the only Turquoise known to have the unique coloring of bright blue with a Lavender undertone. Albert Jake was born in 1959 in the Zuni Pueblo south of Gallup, New Mexico. He learned silversmithing from his parents. He specializes in traditional set stones and cluster jewelry with intricate stampwork. He has been smithing since 1987. He also creates sand-paintings and makes pottery. During the summers he works as a forest fire fighter. He lives with his wife and two daughters today in Rahmah, New Mexico, near the Zuni Pueblo.
