Navajo handcrafted bracelet by artist Henry Yazzie. The tradional design of the bracelet features 3 turquoise stones are set on 3 pieces of heavy round wire. All the stones are Kingman turquosie with the outside stones showing black matrix and the center stone showing light brown matrix. The bracelet has a sturdy feel and is very comfortable.
It comes attached to its original red pawn ticket.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embedded in the Navajo culture.
