NIGHT SKY JEWELRY COLLECTION: Inspired by the clear dark night skies of the Navajo Nation. The Black you see is called "JET "and is a fossilized wood, which has been compressed over millions of years. Multiple pieces of stone make up the mosaic image. The stars are made from pieces of silver and the larger star and moon along with the shooting star are made from Cultured Opal. This particular ring has the most unique design of any ring we have in our gallery.
The actual inlay measures 1/2" x 1" and is done on a curve which looks as if you are looking up to the night sky. The black you see in the inlay is a fossilized wood called "Jet", from here the stars are created with sterling silver circles, the moons, shooting stars and comets are cultured opal and the red moon is coral. Also notice the sides of the ring, they are smooth but instead of making a circle they actually flatten out at the bottom which makes the ring amazingly comfortable. Handcrafted by Navajo artist Marty Yazzie in New Mexico, each piece is done in multiple layers and takes many days to create. The very unique "Flat Bottom" creates an extremely comfortable fit.
