Born in Gallup, New Mexico, in 1962, the late Navajo silversmith Gary Reeves (d. July 2014) began his craft in 1974. He was the older brother to acclaimed silversmith Sunshine Reeves and the younger brother of the late David Reeves, who was pivotal in teaching silversmithing to Gary, Sunshine, and their half-brothers Darrel and Andy Cadman
