Black onyx tear drop cuff bracelet

Handcrafted by Navajo artist Albert Jake. This bracelet features a tear drop shaped stone pattern of graduated sizes of large to small starting in the center and moving outward. The artist has added traditional stamping throughout the bracelet. The simple design has its focus on the Black onyx. It is unusual to see a bracelet this size with large teardrop shaped stones ! It has a medium weight and is comfortable.

Measuremnts: width: 1-1/2" - Inside measurements: 5-1/4" with a opening of 1"

Stone: Onyx is a chalcedony quartz that is mined in Brazil, India, California, and Uruguay. It has a fine texture and black color; however, some onyx also displays white bands or ribbons against a black or brown background and this variety is known as sardonyx. The name comes from the Greek word onyx.

.Artist: Albert Jake: was born in 1959 in the Zuni Pueblo south of Gallup, New Mexico.  He learned silversmithing from his parents. He specializes in traditional set stones and cluster jewelry with intricate stamp work. He has been smithing since 1987.  He also creates sand-paintings and makes pottery. During the summers he works as a forest fire fighter. He lives with his wife and two daughters today in Rahmah, New Mexico, near the Zuni Pueblo.
