This sterling silver bracelet features a scalluped edge and traditonal Navajo stamping. The artist is known for her precise stamp work and attention to detial and this bracelet is a great example. The bracelet is wide but the scalluped edge creates a soft feel when worn .It is handcrafted by Navajo artist Albert Jake. The bracelet is highly detailed and has a polished finish. The deep green Sonoran Turquosie is outstanding. The artist signs the bracelet with " A.Jake" along with his guild hallmark " HBH" which stands for Heavy by Hand. Beautiful piece.
Artist: Albert Jake: was born in 1959 in the Zuni Pueblo south of Gallup, New Mexico. He learned silversmithing from his parents. He specializes in traditional set stones and cluster jewelry with intricate stamp work. He has been smithing since 1987. He also creates sand-paintings and makes pottery. During the summers he works as a forest fire fighter. He lives with his wife and two daughters today in Rahmah, New Mexico, near the Zuni Pueblo.
