ANTLER HANDLE WITH SILVER BEAR INLAY IMAGE BY ARTIST TOM GYWEN
Large fixed blade knife by Montana artist Dan Gywen. The unique handle gets it shape from the natural form of the antler. It is capped with brass. The handle measures 4"1/2 and has a comfortable feel, the blade measures 5" giving this knife a total length of 9"1/2. The custom sheath has a secure snap feature that holds the knife securely and has a loop to allow you to wear it on you belt. This is a beautiful knife. A true collectable.
440 STEEL (blade)- There are three different types of 440 steel, the hardest part of telling them apart is that often-steel makers mark 440 on the tang of the blade and not the letter grade. This is especially true when it is one of the lower grades. This has led certain knife manufacturers to rename 440C as other things to differentiate the quality of the product.
