NAVAJO HANDCRAFTED PENDANT BY ARTIST JAMES LEE & RANDY JAMES
Navajo handcrafted large pendant by artists James Lee & Randy James. Set in solid sterling silver. The design features all hand cut stones with genuine red spiny oyster shells, jasper, turquoise and jet. The patten is even brought up onto the bail. This bail is large enough to accommodate up to a 12mm bead or chain. The pendant has a total measurement of 2-1/2" and a maximum width of 1"3/8. This is a stunning piece of Native American art.
Stones: The Black you see in the design is called "JET "and is actually a fossilized wood, which has been compressed over millions of years. Multiple pieces of stone make up the mosaic image. The Brown is made up of Picture Jasper, the lite blue is turquosie, the red is spiny oyster shell and the red iridescent rectangular shapes are made from Cultured Opal.
Story: The Design in both rings is directly reflective of a Navajo Rug pattern called a "Storm Pattern". The middle apposing triangles are the "eye" of the storm, and the black steps represent storm clouds. Designs and or patterns showing storm clouds, whirl winds and or rain are common with the Navajo People as water is such a vital part of their life
