Large handcrafted bracelet by Navajo artist Albert Jake. He stamps his work " A.Jake " along with "HBH" which is his guild and stands for Heavy by Hand.The bracelet features a unique designed scalluped edge that allows the bracelet to fit comfortably on the wrist. Palomino turquoise is a type of turquoise that comes from the Palomino mine in Nevada. The mine was discovered in 1929 by Gus Stennich and produces turquoise in shades of blue and lime-green. The 7 stone design has large oval stones that are mounted high in the bracelet and have beautiful blue coloring.
Artist: Albert Jake: was born in 1959 in the Zuni Pueblo south of Gallup, New Mexico. He learned silversmithing from his parents. He specializes in traditional set stones and cluster jewelry with intricate stamp work. He has been smithing since 1987. He also creates sand-paintings and makes pottery. During the summers he works as a forest fire fighter. He lives with his wife and two daughters today in Rahmah, New Mexico, near the Zuni Pueblo.
