About Veryl Pooyouma
Veryl Pooyouma hails from the village of Hotevilla, located within the Hopi reservation in northern Arizona. He belongs to the Sun and Corn Clan, two important clans in Hopi culture. Growing up, he was inspired by two well-known Hopi silversmiths, Charles Loloma and Lawrence Saufkie, but ultimately taught himself the craft.
Beginning his journey at just 17 years old, Veryl Pooyouma has dedicated his life to mastering the art of jewelry making. Over the years, he has developed a remarkable skill set, producing pieces that resonate with traditional Hopi symbolism and customs. Each creation he crafts embodies the spirit and essence of the Hopi people, reflecting their deep-rooted cultural heritage and way of life.
