Navajo handcrafted pendant and necklace set. Made of solid sterling silver.The set comes complete with its orignal red pawn ticket from Gallup, New Mexico.The term "pawn" refers to jewelry that has been pawned to brokers. The practice of pawning jewelry began in the early 1900s when Native Americans and traders would exchange jewelry for food and other necessities, it is still used today and is embeded in the Navajo culture.
Necklace: The length of the necklace is 24" and features round beads that measure approximately 7mm in size. Lobster and eye clasp. Light weight and easy to wear.
Pendant: The pendant measures 2" x 2" and features a scalloped edge wtih unique repousse´ patterns.
