Over the years, Al honed his skills and attended Northern Arizona University, where he expanded his knowledge and refined his artistry. Currently residing in Winslow, Arizona, Al continues to create one-of-a-kind pieces daily, blending the wisdom of his ancestors with contemporary design principles. His work has earned him the prestigious IACA Artist of the Year award not once, but twice, in 2001 and 2009.

Al Joe’s influence extends beyond his own creations. He has passed down his skills to the next generation, teaching his son, Bryan Joe, and grandson, Derrick Joe, how to craft jewelry with the same passion and precision. He even helped his younger brother, Larry Joe, start his own journey in the craft, guaranteeing that the family legacy continues.
