Medium sized black onyx pendant measures 2" x 1". Handcrafted by Navajo artist Happy Piasso. It is highly detailed with silver stamping and silver relief elements. It is removable from the necklace. The Navajo pearls measure 18" and have silver and onyx beads. The matching earrings a straight dangle style. Nicely sized to wear anytime.
Artist: Happy Piaso, Navajo, is 40 years old (2014) and is married to Rudie Willie. She was born and raised in Alamo, New Mexico and has 2 children, one of which is in the military. Happy was taught the craft of silversmithing by her husband, Rudie. Onyx is a chalcedony quartz that is mined in Brazil, India, California, and Uruguay. It has a fine texture and black color; however, some onyx also displays white bands or ribbons against a black or brown background and this variety is known as sardonyx. The name comes from the Greek word onyx.
