This is an outstanding example of a large traditional Navajo bracelet. Measuring 1"1/2 in width with an inside measurement of 5"1/2 & a 1"1/2 opening. The artist has used detailed stamping techniques that really make this piece stand out from the rest. The high grade Golden Hills turquoise stone is mounted higher in the bezel than normal to show the depth and coloring of the stone. Very rare piece.
GOLDEN HILLS TURQUOISE: In the Russian hills of Kazakhstan sits the GOLDEN HILLS mine. The Turquoise is only mined in the winter months during the freezing cold and snow as rains flood the mine during the summer. The location of the mine is remote and difficult to bring equipment in and out of. It is the only Turquoise known to have the unique coloring of bright blue with a Lavender undertone.
